DAY
1
Arrive through the day. Early evening, there will be an orientation
programme to Indian Cuisine. This is followed by a visit to an authentic
Goan restaurant. The restaurant is an extension of a delicately preserved
old Portuguese house. A large array of artifacts in the form of instruments
for guests playing, glass jars, arboric carvings, and age old vessels
of culinary use, adorn the whole of the sitting area, creating an atmosphere
of a little museum, in the true Goan spirit.
DAY 2
Start your day early with Yoga by the poolside. This is a beginners
session and will include easy ‘aasans’. After breakfast,
participate in a short cookery class where you will learn to make Indian
snacks. In the evening you will be introduced to the famed mustard fish
of Bengal and other regional Bengali delights, which you will then relish
for dinner.
DAY 3
Start your day early with Yoga by the poolside. Later in the morning,
take a trip to the Spice Village and discover the secrets of Indian
Cuisine. This is followed by a traditional ‘Hindu Goan’
lunch at the Spice Village. In the evening discover the cuisine of Western
and Coastal India. Enjoy the feats of your culinary prowess for dinner.
DAY 4
Yoga again in the early morning. Today, your chef will introduce to
you a variety of fish and vegetables at the local ‘wet’
market. Be amazed by the varied fish and take in the local colors and
smells of India. After the market trip, enjoy a traditional Indian ‘thali’
lunch. The evening will be a day of Kashmiri cuisine, from the northern
most tip of India. Dinner will be served after.
DAY 5
As always, there is Yoga for the enthusiasts, early morning. The rest
of the morning is free. You may want to spend some time relaxing on
the beach or enjoy the surroundings at leisure. Late afternoon, we head
off to the beach where you will see the fisherman bring in their haul.
Your chef will pick out the freshest sea food for you to come back and
cook that evening. A sea food dinner is what you will have tonight.
DAY 6
Today is a ‘no cooking’ day! We take you out for a fishing
trip to a nearby island. You can swim, snorkel and fish. Have a fresh
seafood B-B-Q on the ‘catch of the day’, washed down by
unlimited beer. Dinner today is a Goan meal in a typical Goan beach
shack.
DAY 7
Departure from the hotel. Your chef will be available to you for any
last minute clarifications/questions you may have on your week long
Indian culinary journey. |
